With over 300 perfectly great dogs being euthanized in Maricopa County every day, how irresponsible of you, New Times, to encourage breeding for money.

Arizona Pups is in it for the money, and we're doing all we can out here to save lives and encourage spaying and neutering.

A Chihuahua at the pound is $65. Spayed, neutered, shots, tags, microchip. Be a bubblehead like Paris Hilton or Brittany Spears. Buy a 500 dollar dog at this pet store.

The winner if this category should have been the humane shelter or any of the various dog recues in the valley. I am completely disgusted that New Times would put ANYTHING like this in their 'Best Of' list. NO ETHICAL, RESPONSIBLE BREEDER WOULD SELL THEIR PUPPIES TO A PET STORE. They keep their dogs until they sell. Sometimes they don't sell. But for responsible, ethical breeders it isn't about the profit.

Millions of dogs DIE every year in shelters. There are PLENTY of "purse dogs" at your local pound. That is where I got my 8lb Miniature Pinscher for $60.00! That included his adoption fee, microchip, rabies shot AND having him neutered!

SHAME ON YOU NEW TIMES.

I can not believe what I am reading. Did anybody do any research on this guy who is a puppy broker ? He is a crook,
he does it to rip off people, he sells puppies on the internet
knows nothing about them, when he sells them he collects the money, and takes the puppy from the breeder, and tells
the breeder he has not gotten the money yet, and then does
not give you the puppy, gives you excuses on why he can not send you the puppy, In the meantime, I suppose he sells
the puppy to someone else. He promised me two at differnet
times, I never received either one. I NEVER RECD MY MONEY EITHER. It has been a Yr. now.

Just stumbled on this "Best of" while looking for live music on the socially responsible/progressive New Times Site. Maybe not, huh? Very disturbed to see you perpetuated the trend of purse dogs AND were irresponsible enough to suggest a breeder. Get with it! Roll up your sleeves and visit some local shelters - just might inspire you to write a worthwhile story, or award a shelter with the next "Best of." Shame on you for selling out to the "sweet life" at the expense of an actual living creature. Grow up.
